BULGARIAN RECIPES
Mekichki
INGREDIENTS:
- 800 g plain flour
- pinch of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 30 ml sunflower oil
- pinch of salt
- 400 ml milk


METHOD:
- Sift the flour. Add the milk, eggs, salt, sugar and oil, then stir to combine. Knead until the dough is smooth.

Leave the dough to rise for around 30 minutes until doubled in size.

Form into small balls and knead with hands. Fry them in hot oil.

Serve the ready mekitsi hot, with powdered sugar, jam or honey, or if you prefer them salty – with your favourite cheese.
